Jake has been blogging about future headlines over the last several weeks. To mix things up, I decided to present some recent prophetic headlines.

So, what does this have to do with the end times? In Revelation 13:12 describes a coming global system in which all the inhabitants of the earth will be forced to worship a beast. Could it be that we are seeing the rise of the beast in the form of climate justice or Mother Earth? 90% of Central Banks Preparing for Digital Currency
We have heard about cryptocurrencies for the last year or so, but then a couple of weeks ago, we saw the fall of FTX. With investors realizing just how volatile cryptocurrencies are, many have quickly made the move to invest in the central banks. And furthermore, the banks themselves are investing billions in creating a centralized global financial system. The United States is currently in a 12-week pilot period with such financial giants as Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank and Master Card.
China has been testing out this system for over a year. NY Fed launches 12-week CBDC pilot program with major banks | Kitco News Furthermore, on Thanksgiving, Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum declared that China is a role model for the rest of the world in this. How is this an end times prophecy? Most are familiar with the passage in Revelation 13 that tells of a coming time when people will not be able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast on their right hand or forehead. In order for the government to have complete control over all transactions, the world will need centralized banking.
We should prepare ourselves by determining ahead of time to not get the mark of the beast, no matter what. Learning to prepare our own essentials, would be wise. Learning to get by on less and purchasing non-perishables would also be wise. The Lord forewarned us so that we would be ready to face the difficulties of the end times.
Global Peace Treaty with Israel

Former Bahraini Ambassador to the United States, Danny Danon stressed the potential historical impact of the summit: “At the Abraham Accords Global Leadership Summit, dozens of nations came together to work towards peace – with practical measures taken to bring additional countries into the fold – while simultaneously creating bonds across six continents. We pray that the seeds we are planting here today will grow into unprecedented global peace and coexistence for generations to come.”
Unprecedented global peace? Coexistence for generations to come? What does the Bible say about that?
The Bible prophesies a time of global peace and safety before the return of Christ as in 1 Thess 5:1-7:
1 Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. 5 For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. 6 So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
The “peace and security” of verse 3 is exactly what these world leaders are striving for, but because peace only comes through Jesus, this false governmental peace will actually result in sudden destruction for those who don’t trust Jesus. We who do trust Him won’t be caught off guard. Paul tells us to not be like the world – spiritually asleep, partying, missing the signs we’ve been given – but to stay awake, alert and aware of the world around us. Instead of hoping for peace through governments, possessions or even relationships, may we seek Jesus alone for our peace.
Wars and Rumors of Wars
When Jesus’ disciples asked Him privately about the signs of His second coming and the end of the world, Jesus included, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.” Matt 24:6 ESV. There have always been wars and rumors of wars. But there were so many headlines during the last week related to battles and weapons, that I cannot ignore this sign of the end times.
Developments in the Russia/Ukraine war include the following headlines during the past several days:
- Putin’s henchmen warn Ukraine conflict could turn into ‘all-out nuclear war’ – Daily Star
- Shelters, backpacks and FM radios: Kyiv prepares for nuclear war (msn.com)
- Belarus armoured vehicles seen with ‘war markings’ amid fears they could enter Ukraine | Daily Mail Online
We have never had an all-out nuclear war, so this is more obvious than previous war headlines. The people of Kiev are preparing for a nuclear attack, reminiscent of the drills in America during the 1950’s and 1960’s, but nuclear weapons are much stronger and more prevalent than they were 60 years ago. If Belarus joins Russia against Ukraine, we are closer to a world war. The Bible definitively predicts at least one more World War. See Ezekiel 38-39, Revelation 17:14, and Revelation 19:11-21, for example.
Beyond the war between Russia and Ukraine, there were several headlines this week that broaden that scope to include The West, even the United States.

- Russia ramping up production of ‘most powerful’ weapons, ex-president boasts | The Times of Israel
Finally, we have new battle rumors with Israel and her neighbors, Lebanon and Iran.
Look back at Matthew 24: 6-7 above. The Amplified version says, “And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not get alarmed (troubled and frightened).” The NLT says, “don’t panic.” Jesus foretold this sign so that we won’t be terrified. He added that these things MUST happen before the end comes.
What should we do with these recent prophetic headlines? First, stop to agree with Jesus that these things must happen. Whether we like it or not, increasing wars are part of what must happen for God to fulfill His purposes. Agreeing with God on this will help alleviate panic in your heart. As Christ followers, we are people of peace. Jesus is our Peace. He is the Prince of Peace! There won’t be peace in the world until He reigns as King of the planet. We can look forward to that day, remembering that the wars must occur first.
