Parents, There’s a Real Magic Kingdom

I’m convinced one of the leading reasons to children raised in church and Christian homes leaving the faith is that we’ve not told them the ending of this age. We’ve presented Heaven and the age to come in a way that doesn’t even appeal to them, it’s just better than the alternative. That’s an absolute failure on our part. This wasn’t the case for the disciples and the early church. In Jesus’ day and moving throughout the Old Testament, we find faithful people driven by the coming Messiah, a bodily resurrection, and the Messianic kingdom.

In how those emphases have fallen out of style in our modern teaching, one would think that those early believers were wrong, but they weren’t.

Jesus is coming back. He will complete all of the promises of the Messiah. There will be a bodily resurrection of those who have followed Jesus. Those resurrected bodies will be eternal. Jesus will establish His Messianic Kingdom on earth.

This amazing real, tangible Kingdom will last a thousand years. And then after a brief rebellion from the released Satan, the earth and heavens will be made new. The kingdom will continue, but in a new phase.

Yes, there are traces of that Kingdom now, but there will be a very real, Jesus-led Kingdom.

This Kingdom is the true, magic Kingdom.

Think of all the stories we read and tell our children comprised of incredible Kingdoms.

Yet, we often neglect the true Kingdom.
